Destined for Demolition
Year: 2025
Destined for Demolition is a collection of short stories that begins with small, cautious explorations of large questions — attempts to give space to doubts and to seek answers for them.
In the stories that follow, these explorations give way to different forms of struggle: a struggle with reality and its absence, with memory and its evaporation, and with emotions and the ways in which they shape us. A struggle with independence, with ability and desire — with the effort to be oneself, even when one is no longer quite oneself.
Finally, the stories turn to the creation of a character — the gathering of all these struggles within a single soul that, after everything, still tries to feel its way forward along the same paths from which it began. It tries and fails. It finds itself powerless, yet in possession of a certain understanding. It tries to lean on something, though it is not sure on what. It attempts to build trust — in others, in itself, and in its way of seeing the world.
Destined for Demolition is a collection of stories about self-inquiry and self-construction, whose end is self-disintegration — and reconstruction.
